About the event

The enchantment of Ostara invites us to embrace the potential of new beginnings, bask in the splendor of the spring season, and embrace the magic of rebirth. Ostara is a festival that celebrates the spring equinox. It is a time of renewal, fertility, and growth. The festival is named after the Germanic goddess, Eostre, who was associated with the spring and the dawn. During Ostara, pagans traditionally participate in rituals and ceremonies that honor the changing of the seasons and the rebirth of nature.  Ostara is also sometimes called the Vernal Equinox, as it marks the moment when day and night are of equal length. Overall, Ostara is a time of hope and optimism, as we look forward to the longer, warmer days of spring.

Our Ostara Celebration

Embrace the promise of spring, and join Katie in the Sisters of Asta for a circle of optimism.

Meditating

  • As the Maiden energy beckons us to embrace our ability to create, we shall embark on a Shamanic Journey to invite her energy into our souls and channel the essence of growth and renewal that accompanies the spring season. This practice includes a rite to release old habits or negative energy, and to nurture intentions for the forthcoming months.

Feasting

  • The magic of nature is interwoven into our ritual with a tranquil sojourn into the beauty of the natural realm. The feast shall be a vegetarian picnic lunch of seasonal delights. Please bring your own chair and water bottle.

Planting Ritual

  • We will create “seed blessings” in a herb planting ritual.
